AI crime prevention camera and street light to be exhibited at booths of three U.S. partner companies


Internet of Things (IoT) technology developer mtes Neural Networks Co., Ltd. (Location: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takaro Harada; referred as mtesNN hereinafter) will collaboratively exhibit at the booths of three companies including QuickLogic at the CES 2019 International Consumer Electronics Show (January 8-11 in local time), the world’s largest electronics trade show. CES is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and nearby hotels and suite rooms in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the U.S.

■ What is CES (International Consumer Electronics Show)?

As a venue for foretelling the future of next generation electronics, CES is the world’s largest trade show where electronics manufacturers from around the world compete with the newest technology in TVs, smartphones, and other devices. It is hosted by the Consumer Technology Association, and has been held annually since 1967. This year, it is estimated that over 3,200 companies from not only U.S. and Europe but also from Japan, South Korea, and China will participate, attracting over 150,000 visitors.

■ Partnerships with Eight Domestic and Overseas Companies as Part of Open Innovation

At this year’s CES, mtesNN will collaboratively exhibit its Structural Health Monitoring system (SHM), AI Makibishi Camera & Arukas Crime Prevention Street Light (below referred to as AI Camera & Crime Prevention Street Light), and Edge AI Camera at the three company booths listed below. SHM detects the slope of a structure in real time using an accelerometer. The AI Camera & Crime Prevention Street Light is equipped with LED lighting that does not require a power connection due to its solar panel and rechargeable battery. At the same time, it functions as an anti-disaster and crime prevention system equipped with an AI camera capable of transmitting high resolution images via LoRa communication. The Edge AI Camera is used in AI Camera & Crime Prevention Street Light.

mtesNN has partnered with eight domestic and overseas companies to date as part of open innovation, and is currently working in collaboration with each of them in development. mtesNN has already signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with QuickLogic among the companies. it will be collaboratively exhibiting products with at CES. It is also conducting joint development with Gyrfalcon Technology and Crossbar to accelerate development of IoT and AI. At the same time, by implementing a global marketing strategy, the company anticipates that next year, as the first year of edge computing AI, will see a great boost to its sales and profits. By exhibiting at CES and further strengthening ties with its U.S. partner companies, mtesNN is expecting to gain between about 30 to 50 new business clients.
